Minnesota Hockey has announced that 40 girls have been selected to attend the 2019 USA Hockey Girls Under-18 National Player Development Camps.  The top girls’ hockey players were selected to represent Minnesota following their performances at the CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Final 54 Festivals held at Fogerty Arena in April.

The girls selected will take part in one of two USA Hockey player development camps this summer. The Girls 16/17 Player Development Camp will take place in St. Cloud, Minnesota on June 25 - July 1. A few weeks later, the Girls Under 18 Select Player Development Camp will be held in St. Cloud on July 15 - 21.

23 Minnesotans have been chosen to participate in the Under-18 Select camp, including seven players who participated in the camp last year. Three of the Minnesota natives selected, Maggie Nicholson (Minnetonka), Skylar Vetter (Lakeville North) and Audrey Wethington (Edina/Blake) helped the U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team win a silver medal at the 2019 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championships in Japan this past January.

USA Hockey’s Girls 16/17 Player Development Camp in St. Cloud will feature at least 22 participants from its host state, with many more still under consideration. The participants will come from 20 different communities, spanning from Rochester to Roseau and Willmar to Duluth.

The CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Programs are conducted in conjunction with USA Hockey and are referred to as “Select” programs in other parts of the country.
