Camp Will Include Instruction from Members of 2018 Women’s Gold Medal-Winning Team

St. Paul, MN – February 13, 2020 – Minnesota Hockey today announced it will host the third annual Gold Rush Girls Hockey Camp, featuring instruction from 2018 Gold Medal-winning Olympians. Instructors for the camp will include goaltender Maddie Rooney and forward Sidney Morin. The four-day camp will be held June 22 – June 25 at Shakopee Ice Arena in Shakopee, Minn.

The 10U and 12U camps will provide players with four hours of on-ice skill instruction over a four-day span, while the 8U players participate in two hours of ice time over two days. In addition to on-ice instruction, the camp will also include daily off-ice athletic activities to promote the importance of multi-sport athletes, and an opportunity for photographs, autographs and a question and answer session with the Olympians.

The camp will be limited to 60 participants at the 8U level, 50 participants in the 10U age group and 40 participants in the 12U age group. All spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cost for the camp is $250 for 10U and 12U players and will be $80 for 8U players.

“It is always special for me to be a part of the Girls Gold Rush Camp,” said Morin, a former Minnetonka standout now playing professionally in Sweden. “It was so rewarding to see the girls return for their second year of the camp, but also to welcome new faces into the group. I am thrilled to see all the young girls playing hockey in Minnesota and I am excited to watch these girls continue to grow. Bring on another year of Gold Rush Camp!”

With assistance from the gold medalists, the on-ice sessions and dryland training will be led by Minnesota Hockey’s Brooke White and her certified Minnesota Development Model coaches.

Registration for the camp is open and can be found here
