Minnesota Hockey has announced that 50 girls have been selected to attend the 2021 USA Hockey Girls Under-18 National Player Development Camps.  The top girls’ hockey players were selected to represent Minnesota following their performances at the CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance programs this spring.

The girls selected will take part in one of two USA Hockey player development camps this summer. The Girls 16/17 National Player Development Camp will take place in St. Cloud, Minnesota on June 26 - July 2. A few weeks later, the Girls Under-18 National Select Player Development Camp will be held in St. Cloud on July 16 - 22.

23 Minnesotans have been chosen to participate in the Under-18 Select camp, including Danielle Burgen (Chisago Lakes) and Katelyn Roberts (Chanhassen) who participated in the camp when it was last held in 2019. Burgen also helped the U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team win a gold medal at most recent IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championships in Slovakia in 2020.

USA Hockey’s Girls 16/17 Player Development Camp in St. Cloud will feature 27 participants from its host state.  This camp will also serve as an evaluation-based camp to determine which players will be selected for the remaining available spots for the Girls U18 Select Camp.

USA Hockey National Camp participants will represent 28 different Minnesota communities, spanning from Mankato to Warroad and Chisago Lakes to Mound Westonka.

Only players who have been cleared to attend one of the three National Girls’ Player Development camps as of June 9th are listed. Any player who is still in consideration for an at-large spot at the National Girls’ Player Development Camps will be notified directly of her status and will be added to these lists if selected at a later date.

The CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Programs are conducted in conjunction with USA Hockey and are referred to as “Select” programs in other parts of the country. The national festivals/camps are used by USA Hockey to identify the top performers in each age group for possible opportunities to represent the U.S.A. at advanced levels of national and international hockey competition.
