The Minnesota Hockey Essay Contest, presented by Park Dental, is an annual tradition that encourages players to express their thoughts on what makes youth hockey a positive environment.
On Hockey Day Minnesota 2025, Minnesota Hockey will announce the winner of the 2024-25 Minnesota Hockey Essay Contest, presented by Park Dental on FanDuel Sports Network.
The finalists will be selected by a committee from entries submitted by boys and girls around the state on the topic of “My Favorite Coach Ever Is…”

The Minnesota Hockey Essay Contest began in 2005, as a part of the Hockey Education Program, and it has become one of the highlights of the youth hockey season.
Original essays should be limited to 250 words or less, and should include the child’s name, hockey association, team/classification, address, phone number and email address. The deadline for essays is December 6, 2024.
