DESCRIPTION

  • Goal of this game is to encourage forwards to move the puck low to high and go to the net for the point shot. Once you establish your point shot, F and D can roll and exchange to make it a 3 v 2.
  • To change possession, the defending forwards must move the puck to their defenseman.
  • Once they move the puck to the point, they need to work to the front of the net and get in the goalie's eyes.
  • Point shot establishes that these forwards are now on offense.
  • Blow whistle to change lines. Keep score.

KEY POINTS

  • Get the puck low to high.
  • Establish a point shot.
  • Forwards get to the goalie's eyes; screen, tip and rebounds.
  • Once you get the point shot, forwards use high ice and roll with the defenseman activating to make it 3 v 2.
  • Emphasize balance - Defenseman rolls down, forward rolls up.
