From Timid to Triumphant In A Few Short Weeks

Last week DinoMights wrapped up six weeks of the Greg Carroll Learn 2 Skate program for students in five Minneapolis elementary schools. In 2018 this program served approximately 320 first graders from Green Central, Andersen Community School, Hope Academy and Hiawatha Leadership Academy's Northrup and Morris Park campuses. The program provides 3 hours of skating instruction for each group of students.

We are incredibly grateful for the efforts of over 150 adults and 40 student volunteers from organizations in the community and individual volunteers who helped tie skates and/or assisted on the ice. Volunteer partner organizations this year included: Morgan Stanley, Impact Hockey, the Kelly Phillips Foundation, Breakaway Hockey Academy, Tria, MediaSpace Solutions, Touchpoint Media, SeQuel DM and the Minnesota Whitecaps. Altogether, volunteers contributed over 500 hours of time to help these first graders have a positive experience on the ice!
