Open Skate Information

TRIA Rink will host recreation open skating sessions open to the public.  These sessions are open to all abilities of skating.  No sticks or pucks are allowed during open skate sessions.  

Open Skate Admission $5.00

Skate Rental rate of $5.00

Please note all participants will be required to have an account set up in our activities program and have signed the waiver to participate.


In order to provide a safe environment for our guests and our staff and to comply with the current Minnesota Department of Health regulations - please see the following:

  • Highly recommended for unvaccinated individuals wear a mask at all times in the facility.,
  • All guests must ensure they do not have COVID-19 symptoms and are fever free prior to arriving to the facility.

How To Purchase Admissions

  • Public skate can be found under Drop-in Events
  • Scroll to the date you'd like to attend
  • Purchase your tickets
  • You can also purchase skate rental
  • Proceed to checkout

Are your skates in need of a sharpening?  We will be happy to sharpen them for you.  Skate sharpening services are $5.00 per pair.

Open Skate Rules

  • Patrons must wear skates when on ice
  • Helmets are not required but are encouraged. Hockey and bike helmets are acceptable.
  • In the event of an injury, notify a skate guard or rink personnel immediately
  • Skate at your own risk
  • No jumps or spins
  • Please do not skate in large groups together
  • Skating in a manner that endangers or interferes with other skaters’ safety is prohibited
  • Roughness, excessive speeding, racing and weaving is prohibited
  • Skaters are not to carry children or secondary items (cameras, purses)
  • Headphones are permitted, be aware of your surroundings.
  • Throwing snowballs or other objects is prohibited
  • No eating or drinking on the ice
  • No sitting or accessing penalty boxes or player benches
  • Please leave ice the ice at the end of the skating session.
